It's slightly cooler (in temperature) than a latte and is presented in nicer serve ware. The closest drink to the flat white is the latte, the difference being that it is stronger (higher coffee:milk ratio) smaller, the milk is creamier (we use whole milk for flat white and semi-skim for our lattes.and when preparing the flat white extra attention is taken to make 'microfoam') and it has to be finished with some pattern on top (hearts for beginners, leaves and more adventurous shapes for more experienced baristas).
